Helping you design the great schools our kids deserve.
Every person is unique and deserves a pathway to success. As educators, families, students, community leaders, businesses, and others who care about the future of learning in communities across the Commonwealth, we know we can do more to help our kids succeed. That’s why Mass IDEAS was created.
If you have a new idea that can help shape or improve a school, you’re not alone. Mass IDEAS brings people together to learn from each other, share ideas, and turn big ideas into great schools. We are focused on helping the people of Massachusetts reimagine public schools and design and launch innovative, high-quality school models for their communities. Learn more about our design principles.
We do this work through a range of supports, which include School Design Institutes where participants explore the why behind new learning models, the ins and outs of design thinking, and then use these design muscles to start prototyping solutions tailored to their communities. We also provide funding opportunities for groups of stakeholders to further plan and implement new schools and redesign existing ones. Our approach works hard to build on and connect with the promising work already being undertaken by other initiatives in communities across the state. Learn more about our services.
All Massachusetts students deserve great schools. Together we will get there.
Mass IDEAS is an initiative launched by Next Generation Learning Challenges (NGLC) with generous support from the Barr Foundation and Nellie Mae Education Foundation.
