Mass IDEAS presents grants to 3 additional school design teams

Mass IDEAS is excited to announce additional grant awards to the following school design teams:

  • Cohasset Center for Student Coastal Research

  • Resiliency Preparatory Academy

  • R.C. Mahar Regional School

These teams participated in our School Design Institutes and developed prototypes to rethink education within their communities. The grants will support their efforts to test their prototypes, which are both ambitious and inspiring. In Cohasset, the Center for Student Coastal Research plans to grow its project-based learning (PBL) work in order to infuse it into classroom learning, by conducting a PBL Summit Day, providing PBL implementation support to district teams. Resiliency Preparatory Academy in Fall River will use the grant to support faculty and student engagement for the school’s redesign plan, beginning with a summer retreat to prepare faculty to pilot a design process with students in their classes. Finally, R.C. Mahar Regional School will use the grant to engage more stakeholders in innovative learning experiences, such as through community-based “pop-up challenges”/design activities and Mahar X, a day-long, school wide exposition of project-based learning.

Mass IDEAS congratulates these teams and offers our appreciation to the Barr and Nellie Mae Education Foundations for the funding that made both the School Design Institutes and grants possible. We are pleased to support all six grantee teams in their efforts to create positive change in the Massachusetts education space!
