Mass IDEAS awards grants from November School Design Institute

Mass IDEAS is excited to award grants to teams in two more communities who are innovating teaching and learning at their schools. The two teams participated in our fourth School Design Institute in Framingham in November. These grants will support the ambitious pilot projects both teams developed to solve problems of practice in their communities.

The Jabish Brook team will incorporate student leadership opportunities throughout the school day to ensure that their 7th and 8th grade students positively identify leadership qualities in themselves and each other, and to foster the use of learned leadership qualities in the global community.

The Westport team will establish staff advisory groups that involve students, parents, staff, and the school community to help build trust and collectively implement solutions that strengthen students’ ability to learn effectively.

Mass IDEAS congratulates these teams and offers our ongoing appreciation to the Barr Foundation for the funding that made both the School Design Institute and the grants possible. We are pleased to support both of these grantee teams in their efforts to create positive change in the Massachusetts education space!
